Madrid has two train stations: Atocha Train Station and Chamartin Train Station.
Atocha Train Station
The Atocha train station is divided into three: Madrid-Puerta de Atocha, Madrid-Atocha Suburban, and Atocha Renfe metro station
The Madrid-Atocha Suburban (Atocha Cercanías, in spanish) has train to the earby towns, to the Chamartin Station and medium-haul destinations. Suburban Train Map
The Madrid-Puerta de Atocha Station offers domestic and international destinations, as well as high-speed train (AVE).

Madrid Chamartin Train Station
Chamartin Train Station offers suburban middle and long distance destinations. It also has a high-speed train (AVE) to connect Madrid and Valladolid (the rest of High Speed Trains depart from Atocha Station).
