Casa de Pilatos of Seville
Plaza de Pilatos 1, Sevilla
How to get there

Dating from the end of the XV or XVI centuries, Casa de Pilatos is the most magnificent palace that can be visited in Sevilla, after the Reales Alcázares of Seville.  Its architectural style combines Mudejar, Gothic and Renaissance admirably. It contains Roman antiquities as well as paintings and furniture from various eras.

Sevillians believed that the design of the house was a copy of the true house of Pilate (the governor of Judea when they crucified Jesus), and this is why it is known with this name.

In every corner of the palace you can find sculptures and busts of great classics as well as murals of Pacheco, Pantoja, Ribera and Zurbaran's school and a beautiful Mudejar coffer.

Casa de Pilatos has also served as the backdrop to several films including "Mission Impossible II".
