The Train of Cervantes is a proposal of the Community of Madrid for the promotion of historical and artistic heritage of Alcala de Henares, birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes.
The train leaves from Atocha Station in Madrid at 11am and takes half an hour. During the trip, actors characterized in the style of the seventeenth century, represent 'entremeses' of Cervantes and give ftravelers typical products of the gastronomy of Alcalá. Arriving at the station of Alcala, a group of tourist guides receive the travelers to start a tour around the historic center of Alcalá and its most representative monuments.
The return train to Madrid departs at 7 pm from Alcalá de Henares.
The Train of Cervantes has a price of 19 € for adults and 15 € for children, and only works for two periods per year:
All weekends from April 20th until June 23rd
All weekends from September 28th to December 1st
